On the last day, we managed to fulfill the planned activities fruitfully. We were cleaned the house, and it was so exhausted yet happening to help and volunteer. At the afternoon, we got the activity with the children, we were spending time, teaching and tutoring them on how to use the computer. Then we had a splendid time playing with the kids at the playground, and the smile on their face has vanished our tired feeling, as we managed to went helping them on three days consecutively. I learnt that the kids are less care and love from the parents.
2. Kam Wei Cong (SIQ180012)
IC: 990510017781
The last day of our visit to the children's home, before we hoped that all of these could ended faster but now it seemed like we were the ones that wanted to stay longer with the children. We cleaned up place then we helped to count the sales. Delightedly, all of our efforts were paid off when we manage to raise more than RM 10000. In the afternoon, we continued the computer tutorial. Before we left, we played like children with the children and take a group photo as memorial.
3.Janet Wong Chia Wen (SIQ180011)
IC : 990209136132
As usual, we started to clean the place after briefing. We washed the toilet, moped the oor, washed the shoes of the children and counted the coupon earned by every stall. After that we taught the children computer skills when the children came back from church. I learned to be responsible as it is our responsibility to clean the place and move back the tables after bazaar
4. Haikal Irfan Bin Azuan Aziz Kasim (SIQ180010)
IC : 990828105933
I learn that we are very fortunate to have a family that looks out for us. Had a great time with the kids and a few farewells. I really enjoy projects like this and it made me intrigue in joining further programs like such
5. Marchello (SIQ180702)
IC : B1429644
There were not much to do during the fourth day. We were just mentoring the kids on their homeworks. But we cannot do much as they can only speak in Chinese. It is not a problem for those could speak in Chinese, but for the Malays and Indonesians, we could not do much. One thing that intrigued me the most is this girl named Aisyah. She probably is the only Malaysian among the Rumah Charis children. When i rst saw her, i thought to myself; there is something slightly different from her. She speaks fluently in Bahasa Melayu, which differentiates her from the other kids. She speaks a lot, about her having a boyfriend which turns out to be a teacher in her school, about her favorite subjects which turns out to be subjects taught by his boyfriend who is her teacher, and much more. She is very intelligent though, I don’t really know what makes me say this, but i just know that deep inside, she is very smart. After talking with the manager of Rumah Charis, turns out she has a kind of syndrome which we did not know the name of. She is 17 years old but her height is almost the same as other kids. The manager told us that she is very talkative and may cause a number of problems, but they cannot do much as she has a kind of disability. The manager though, said that she is very smart indeed, From the last day, I learned once again that we should be grateful. Not a lot of people may have gotten the same chance as us, with complete body parts, with ‘normal’ brain, with the ability to walk and talk and see and do many things as we wish to. Even people with the said ‘disability’ is not afraid to pull through, they keep going on with passion. We too, as fellow human should not be downhearted about the things that happened, and always be spirited to pull through.
6. Calvin Wijaya (SIQ180705)
IC : C0684635
On the last day, it was the most pleasant day for me because I was close to the children in the Rumah Charis. I played chases with 4 small children and I was very happy because they could smile freely when playing with me. At the last moment I was sad because our project had end and I could not play with the children who were there
7.Melanie Ng Huei Yee (SIQ180016)
IC : 990620088150
Spending our last day in Rumah Charis, we helped out with a few finishing touches for the event such as totaling up the sales, and restoring back the condition. We met the children and have computer tutoring sessions with them. It is happy to find out that some of them still remember some basic skills that we taught last time. Before ending up, we have a fun time with the children, playing and sharing our stories. Hopefully we had bring some happiness to the children so that they can have beautiful memorable moments with us.
8.Cheong Kah Ken (SIQ180007)
IC : 990513025111
This was the last day we went to Rumah Charis. As usual, we continued to clean up the venue of the Charity Bazaar. After this, we counted the sales and profit earned from the Charity Bazaar event. We were thrilled beyond words when we knew our sales reached RM 100000. In the afternoon, we conducted computer tutoring session and the children looked so excited when they saw our computer. Before we went home, a child came to me and cry because he wanted us to stay and play with him instead of going back. I felt so heartbroken and sad when I saw his reaction. From the activites today, I learnt how to be a good listener in front of the children as they would often tell me their secrets and stories. Besides, I also learnt how to become a leader when it came to group work like cleaning the Rumah Charis.
9. Muhammad Shahir Bin Shuhaidi (SIQ180024)
IC : 990308106297
On the last day of our SE trip , I strengthen my bonds more with my SE teammates during the 'cleaning-up'. Moreover , I got the chances to interact with the children during the computer tutoring session and listened to their stories. The interaction between me and the children made them happy as well as building a strong connection between them. By giving them the attention they need , they feel cared and relieved. I have also learned to be more talkative and expressive when playing with the children.
10. Zulaikha Aqila binti zainal abidin (SIQ180507)
IC : 990916106442
We helped the managers to count all the tokens received from the bazaar the day before. We divided ourselves into a few groups for a faster outcome. We made sure that the tokens were counted properly. We also spent some time with the children by sharing our experiences with them, listening to their stories, tutoring them and also playing with them. From this, i learned that it is important to put in efforts while doing the task given to make sure that no error is made. I also learned that, being a listener could make a big difference to the children and our inspiring stories could motivate them.
11. Elyssa syahada jamaludin (SIQ180043)
IC : 990129055842
We helped clean rumah charis . Mopped the floor, arrange the tables and tutor the kids with how to use Microsoft word/google doc. It was a good last day. In the end everyone just played with the kids as it was our last time there.
12. Loh Chuan Hui (SIQ180013)
IC : 991015065078
Firstly, we helped to count the value of the coupons collected. Then we move on to clean up the places. After lunch, we had our last computer tutoring session with the children. Before we left, we spent our time together with the children at the playground. Seeing the children having fun have inspired me. It may not be easy to overcome obstacles, to choose to be happy when life gets tough, but it can be rewarding. No matter how hard it might be, we will always come out on the other side a little bit stronger and wiser.
13 .Phoon Xue Liang (SIQ180031)
IC : 990201085617
The main activity included counting the coupons for the bazaar day, cleaning up the compound and also teaching the children some computing skills. The problems we faced when teaching the children included some of them feel sad when no facilitator sat beside them. Luckily we managed to solve the problem by allocating each facilitators with 2 children so that they would not feel depressed. Other than that, some of the children cannot focus during the learning sessions. Eventually, we needed to advise and instill them the important of learning as knowledge is power. I realized that being a facilitator was not easy as I needed to explain the study materials to the children in a simple and understandable way.
14. Ahmad Syahmi bin Ahmad Rastam (SIQ180001)
IC : 000108140217
We all helped clean all the dirt coming from the land next to the house. And also helped carry the chairs. That was when teamwork was at its peak. Same problem, some people were just relaxing while others try to find things to help.We also had a great time especially me while interactibg with the kids later that day.
15. Adam Haiqal bin Azrail (SIQ180042)

On the final and last day, we had to clean few things including the porch and the living hall. As it was muddy, the whole area was very dirty. Then we had to count coupons collected by each booth and record it done. It took a while as there was plenty of coupons collected. We were shocked too with how much the charity bazaar could collect. Later on after lunch, we had some tutoring session for the kids specifically on using the computer. Then we had to say goodbye to the kids for the last time.

It's totally splendid weekend at Rumah Charis, it was heartbreaking knowing that it is our last day for Social Engagement. We departed to Rumah Charis as usual. We were assigned to clean up the bazaar compound. It was quite exhausting because we helped to detach the canopy that being used for yesterday event and scrub the floor that are full of mud. Everything were done just in a short of time because of the teamwork that we have. After done with cleaning, and back from lunch, we continue with computer tutoring session with the kids. Knowing that it was our last day with the children, we stay at Rumah Charis for a longer period than usual. We played with them at the playground and they were so happy. I felt so relieved whenever seeing them smile and it proves that one don't need to do big things to be happy. Our Social Engagement may ends today, but we left our marks here and this memories will never fade away. Last but not least, we took a group photo together with the children as a memorable piece of memory and we head back to our respective college.

It was the last day of our project. When we arrived at the destination, we were briefed by Joshua on our task today. Besides cleaning the floor, toilets and rearranging back the tables, we were asked to count the value of the coupons collected. After lunch, we had our last computer tutoring session with the children. I could see that although we are not expert in computer, but everyone tried their best to give whatever they have to the children. Before we left, we spent happy moment with the children at the playground. Laughter were everywhere and the children are pure and unpolluted. I think we should learn from them by always keeping a positive mind that everything would be ne, no matter how hard the situation is, just be strong and never give up.

Day 4 was basically cleaning-up day as we had to clear all the items and materials which were used for the event and arrange all the stuff back to their default places. We also had to count the total value of all the coupons that Rumah Charis sold yesterday. The total amount was really handsome. After that, everyone had to clean the house again as the place was really muddy from all the shoe stains. Then, I got to spend time with the orphans again. They learnt to use my laptop. I thought one of the kids to type using Microsoft Word. Finally, we had a photography session with all the orphans as a memory of our time spent here helping to volunteer at Rumah Charis. The thing I learnt today was satisfaction comes from helping other people and making them happy.
19. Tan Chia Ping (SIQ180034 )
IC : 991227075526
It is the forth day and also the last day of our project. We also clean up the place like usual. But this time we can finish our work faster compared to first time. We can divide our work more systematically. After that is computer tutor session. There are no distance between us already. When they facing some problem in the session, they are brave to ask us any question already. When we teach something new to them, they feel excited and never reject when they have to learn new things. The eager character from them is commendable.
20. Nadiah Zahirah Binti Muhammad Ali (SIQ180501)
IC : 990226076004
On the last day, we did a last gotong-royong to clean up all the mess from the bazaar day. It took us half of the day to finish cleaning. During the afternoon, after the children came back from church, we had a tutoring session. I teach one of the kids on how to use Microsoft Powerpoint even though it is hard to communicate to them because they preferred to talk in chinese rather than english or bahasa melayu. I also play and talk to some other children about their daily life and what they like to do. We also play charades and it was very fun to see their action and reaction. At the end of the day, i felt happy because we managed to finish our social engagement project but at the same time i was sad because had to go back and unable to see them again.
21. Mohd Hilmi bin Mohd Anuar (SIQ180020)
IC : 991020127499
The fourth day and the last day, we had to cleaned up from yesterday's event. I learned that for every thing we do, we have to finish it. So we helped out by sweeping and moping the floor and rearranging back the furniture. After that is finish, we count the coupons for every stall. I learned teamwork here because to make the counting faster we need to work together and not just count by ourselves. This is because there are different values of coupons so it might be a bit confusing sometimes but when we did it as a team we managed to finish it up faster. I was amazed that a single store can get up to 8 thousand coupons. That is the power of charity. On the evening we did a computer tutoring session where we interact with the kids and teach them the basic of microsoft oce. Some of them are excited as every faci brought laptops. They might not be using computer frequently. That is why they were really enthusiastic. Some are good learners but some are slow. I learned that we have to be patient with kids because to us these things are boring but to them it's something new. So, I need to be more polite and imagine myself in their shoes. After that we played with them at the playground and have our last photo session to capture the memory.

Today is the last day of the project and also with the orphaned children. I feel blissful being able to spend time with the people there. After we gathered around for a group picture, the children gathered too and thanked all of us, but I feel I should be thankful for teaching them for teaching me a better way to live my life .

So on this last day for our project , all my feelings mixed up , feeling glad that this project will end soon after those tiring days and also sad that it seems hard to get time like this after this to spend with my course mates and also felt grateful for had given this chance to help the welfare home , Rumah Charis. So we started the activity for this day by helping the committee of Rumah Charis by counting the coupons that will distribute different charity houses and continued with a bit of clean up the house and follow with computer tutoring session with the kids after our lunch break. On this day , they were improvement on communicate and get along with the children. I keep trying to approach the kids and some of them give a good response and I'm very glade that some of the kids can communicate well in Malay . And to overcome with the language barrier , we just played with them at the playground . Play more , communicate less . And I'm so happy to see that they're happy . We ended up the day by taking some photographs with the kids to make some good memories together.

Time flew at the speed of light and we had come to the last day of our social engagement project at Rumah Charis. Today was the last chance to meet those adorable children. We did some cleaning work like sweeping around the children’s home compound as there were many leftovers due to the bazaar. We divided the rubbish according to their types to be recycled. We also helped to rearrange the tables and chairs used during the bazaar back to their original positions. Most of the children had walked on the muddy ground as they helped out at the bazaar yesterday. Therefore, we decided to wash their slippers while they were out for Sunday prayers. We also helped to count the coupons collected during the bazaar to enable the person in charge to check whether it was tally with their charity funds. After lunch, the children returned from their Sunday prayers and our last computer tutorial session began. My mentees were still as playful and agile as always but this time I could get along with them much better than the last time. Today’s lesson was about Google apps such as Google drive, Google doc and Google sheet. To facilitate the learning process, I created a new email account for each of them and taught them how to manage the emails. Since they were too young to own a hand phone, I hoped this is a way for us to keep in touch in the future. As an encouragement after one hour of tutorial session, I allowed the children to play some computer games in my laptop. I also taught them to how to search for their favourite entertainment videos in YouTube as a reward for learning something new today. Before we bid farewell to children, all of us took a group photo together at the playground. The children asked us to stay with heavy hearts and we promised that we would still visit them as frequent as possible in the future. The person in charge, Mr Andrew also thanked us for volunteering ourselves during the charity bazaar and he hoped we would still help him in other upcoming events. Upon seeing the situation of these children, I learnt to be appreciative for who I am, that I was born in a blissful family showered with parental love. At the same time, I was glad that we had brought love and happiness into the children’s lives and made them believe that a positive mind set would lead to their success one day.

On day 4, we got to spent some time with the children at the orphanage. There were some difficulties as the children cannot speak in malay language and only some of them can speak in english. But we figure it out by doing some hand sign, doing some face expression and learning some basic chinese language, the children can nally understand a bit what we are trying to say.
