Day 3

1. Mohamad Khairul Aiman bin Mohamad (SIQ180018)
IC : 990823026013

On the third day, we managed to help the owner handle the Charity Bazaar to become fruit full. I learnt and got many experiences such as there always an angel send via God to help the unfortune kids as there were so many people came to the bazaar, did a charity and supporting this event. This reflect me to be a better person in the future.

2. Kam Wei Cong (SIQ180012)
IC: 990510017781

The bazaar began. As we anticipated, the place was flooded by people but due to our cooperation we manage to put everything under control. There were also other volunteers and unexpectedly some of them are big bosses from rich companies. Then I learned a lesson that is "The more you gain, the more you have to give. The more you give, the more you will gain." With everybody's diligence, the
bazaar ended up as a great success with most of the product were sold.

3.Janet Wong Chia Wen (SIQ180011)
IC : 990209136132

I was in charge of the stage. The performance started at 10 a.m. We managed to start the performance on time. But after that a lot of problems about the ow came out such as we cannot nd the performers, the microphone had no sound. We managed to solve the problem by asking help from others. I enjoyed the show because some of the performances were presented by the children at Rumah Charis. They are so talented and courage to present their talent on stage. I was proud of them. During lunch break I managed to walk around the bazaar and there were many stalls selling different things such as books, biscuits, towel, drinks, food, hair cut service, massage service and medical check up service. It was nice and many people enjoyed the show as well as food on bazaar. I learned to solve problem because as a backstage helper, we faced a lot of problems and we need to solve it as soon as possible so that the ow of the show is smooth.

4. Haikal Irfan Bin Azuan Aziz Kasim (SIQ180010)
IC : 990828105933

Personally, I gained a lot of experience in handling the project. Been handling projects for awhile now but not like that one. I really enjoy getting myself into more diverse events and programs so overall I had a good time

5. Marchello (SIQ180702)

It is the day of the Charity Bazaar that the Rumah Charis committee has been planning for the past few weeks. The committees has told us that they would be expecting thousands of people and it turned out to be true. A lot of people came to the Bazaar to help others. There were a lot of things being sold, ranging from vegetables and fruits, to powdered milks, and foods. There were kids, adults, and even elders. They came from vary areas and most of them are Chinese. I was in charge of the game booth along with the other Programme Bureau members. Because most of the children coming are relatively young, we prepared a very easy game. it is a throw-a-ball game. Basically, they just have to throw balls to the paper glasses that we have assembled. With more glasses that fell, more gifts they can take. For the gifts, we prepare snacks and sweets, definitely fitting for the children. There were a lot of parents coming to our booth, to tag along their children. One thing that caught my eye the most is this small Chinese family. This family consists of a mother, a grandmother, one boy and one girl. They keep on playing at the game booth over and over again. Their mother were so nice too, and she keeps on saying thank you to us. The mother keeps on giving us the coupons ( the currency for buying things on the bazaar is in the form of coupons ) to us. The children looked so happy throwing the balls and seeing the glasses crumbling down. It cheers me up a bit to see the innocence of a kid that were so happy just by simple things they do. From the third day, i learned that there are still a lot of nice people around us. The people who came to the Charity Bazaar was the evidence of it. They came all along from their place to Rumah Charis, to participate in the charity event. They bought the things on their own consent, while giving contributions to the life of the children there. These kind of things may be simple, but it does mean a lot to the Rumah Charis’ children. This way, their education, food, utilities, and much more are guaranteed.

On April 27, 2019, we were divided into 4 groups: awesome groups, bridge groups, cool groups and excellent groups. I'm on an awesome team. On that day I arrived late because of the patient class with our social engagement. I arrived at the Rumah Charis at 2:00 p.m. where the awesome task was finished. Finally, I helped an excellent team in preparing a game and giving prizes to the winners in the game.

7.Melanie Ng Huei Yee (SIQ180016)
IC : 990620088150

It was the day for charity bazaar. As expected, the bazaar was packed with people and I can see a lot of kind people are showing support to Rumah Charis's fundraising project. It is glad to see that the society is still being caring and generous enough to help the needy when they themselves are actually affordable to do so. I can feel the warm-heartedness from those visiting the bazaar and hopefully the person in charge, children, and old folks can feel it too.

8.Cheong Kah Ken (SIQ180007)
IC : 990513025111

This was the day of Charity Bazaar. The place was crowded with thousands of people. I was distributed into Team Excellent which sold the coupons and in charge of some booths. However, I always left my position as I had to become camera man to take photos for our SE report and video. From this part, I learnt how to deal with customers and also action fast so that we can finish our work in a shorter time. By doing this, we will have plenty of free time to do extra work. I was shocked to know that some of the volunteers are actually come from rich families. Maybe this scenario can be described as "the more you gain, the more you have to give". After the Charity Bazaar, we were instructed to clean up the and close all the booths. Due to the time constraining, we had only cleaned floor. Then we went back and continue our work the next day

9. Muhammad Shahir Bin Shuhaidi (SIQ180024)
IC : 990308106297

On Day 3 , I was leading my team (Game booth team). I have learned to think critically during emergency situation as during the morning , my team was shortage of members as some of my teammates were absent. I also improve my punctuality in which I arrived earlier than the time that is scheduled to gather with my teammates. I was also able to help other booths volunteers thus making healthy connection and communication with them.

10. Zulaikha Aqila binti zainal abidin (SIQ180507)
IC : 990916106442

We helped the managers to sell the stuffs that they were selling. We were honest while dealing with the token. We also provided booths for games for the children to play. We helped them while they were playing the game & we motivated them to play better when they did not play well. We gave them presents as a prize for winning. We also gave them sweets for the children who did not win the game. We worked together to clean up the house after we were done with bazaar. From this, i learned that being responsible and honest when dealing with business is important. We cannot betray the trust given by others. I also learned that we should never demotivate the children whenever they fail to do something, instead we should pull them up until they are finally able to do it successfully.

11. Elyssa syahada jamaludin (SIQ180043)
IC : 990129055842

The day of the bazaar. The jobs were distributed and i was assigned to the security team. Our job was to make sure that no kids from rumah charis leaves the compound and prevent any harm from happening. It was a new experience for me and a good one. If i was given a chance to volunteer again for any charity bazaar i would gladly help out.

12. Loh Chuan Hui (SIQ180013)
IC : 991015065078

All of our team members were divide into 4 teams as volunteers. I was in Team Awesome, our job were basically provide directions to visitors and help navigate them to specific booths or toilets. Except the students from UM, we worked with other volunteers also. There were some stalls which located at upstairs and rarely visited by the visitors at first. Thus, our coordinator asked us to attract visitors to check out the booths upstairs. At first, I was shy to approach the visitors. But then somehow eventually my teammates and I managed to attract visitors to go and visit the booths upstairs. It was fun to work with new friends and i realised some of the adults spent their weekend to volunteering as they do not have to go to work. I have learned that no matter how old we get, we should never stop helping others. The happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more. With everybody’s commitment, the bazaar ended with a great success.

13 .Phoon Xue Liang (SIQ180031)
IC : 990201085617

The bazaar day started. We were categorized into several teams. My team members and I act as the backstage crews. Problems faced by us were finding the performers to get ready for their performance. However, we managed to solve this by getting help from the person in charge and some of the children there as they had met the performers before. Other than that, we faced a situation where some of the lucky draw gifts were not on the stage when this session is going on. Luckily we were alert on this matter and quickly informed the person in charge. I realized that I needed to be more proactive and alert on the problems I faced so that I could solve them with the best solution.

14. Ahmad Syahmi bin Ahmad Rastam (SIQ180001)
IC : 000108140217

The bazaar went quite well and as planned. I think the decision to divide us into groups with specific tasks was brilliant because it could help more throughout the event. A little problem is that, when specific tasks are done, some just laid back and relax while others did their job continuously which I hope will improve later on

15. Adam Haiqal bin Azrail (SIQ180042)
IC : 99120145039

It was a hectic day as there thousands of guests came for the bazaar. We were separated by few groups with specific job scope during the day. The team that I was placed into is called Team Cool. We are mainly the security of the day and the logistics team as well. We had to ensure that the children and the old folks does not get out of the compound or cause any mayhem. We also had to ensure all the booth are ready before 10 a.m. Overall, it was tiring but the interaction with the people there made it bearable.

16. Aserah Anak Jawi (SIQ180005)
IC : 990529136078

The big day for Rumah Charis has nally come which is the Charity Bazaar. The Charity Bazaar was held at Rumah Charis itself. As usual, my teammates and I departed from our respective college at 7.30 a.m. and reached Rumah Charis around 8 a.m. There are also other volunteers that came to help on that day. It was a great experience to meet new people and make new acquaintance. As I was in team Awesome, we were assigned to navigate the visitors to the correct locations as if like we were the 'living-waze'. It was a hectic day at Rumah Charis because the place is cramp with outsiders. The best part about this day is every volunteers that did their duties for 2 hours and above received free coupon worth RM 30 that can be used on bazaar. Basically, we don't have to spend a single cent for our lunch on that day. The highlight of the day will be the performance by Mr Bean Malaysia. His face totally look alike as Mr. Bean we usually watch in TV. The children was on cloud nine seeing him. I even took the chance to take picture with him. Thanks to God, the bazaar went smoothly and it ends at 3 p.m. All of us work together to stack up the chairs that being used and the guys were assigned to lift the tables to the original place.

17. Moh Li Lin (SIQ180017)
IC : 990616015610

It was the day which we prepared and looked forward to the most. Early in the morning, when we arrived at Rumah Charis, we were briefed by our team leader on the job we were going to do for the whole day. I was in Team Awesome which we will have to navigate the visitors to the booths and also made sure that they were all in order. I learnt quite a lot from this because we have to be alert and observant so that the visitors will not go into a mess. Because of some of our booths were at the first floor, so we had to navigate the visitors to go upstairs. First, I was shy to shout but when I saw my teammates were doing well, I started to brave up myself. The bazaar held let me realise that there is love in the society. Once we are capable of doing charities, we should not hesitate to do so, because there are still people who need help from us. Because of the commitment given by all the committees as well as the volunteers, the bazaar ended in a great success.

Day 3 was the day everyone has been long awaiting that is the ‘Bazaar’ day. My programme bureau helped to set up the game stations and handle the games throughout the day. Everything went very smoothly as we were well-organised in our teams assigned by Andrew before the event day. Today was filled with fun, joy and laughter only. I was overwhelmed by how little and simple things in life can make the orphans filled with happiness. I witnessed all the participants of the event from young to old people, each of them were having a lot of fun playing the games in the game stations. So the most important thing I learnt during the event is how big events like this have a positive impact on the orphans and other people as they will have something memorable to reminisce in their future.

19. Tan Chia Ping (SIQ180034 )
IC : 991227075526

It is third day we visit to Rumah Charis. Today is the bazaar of Rumah Charis. There is too many customer that I cannot expected come to this bazaar. Fortunately, the bazaar is well organized. We divide into few group to in charge different work. I am in charge to help them selling some drink. From here, I learnt about how to communicate with a customer.

20. Nadiah Zahirah Binti Muhammad Ali (SIQ180501)

On day 3, it is the Charity Bazaar Day. I was in team booth and my task is handling two game booth. The first game is inspired from bowling. The participant need to throw maximum of three paper ball to topple all the paper cups from a certain distance. This game is to test their aiming skills. The second game is throwing three paper ball into the paper cup which the position have been fixed. The purpose is to test coordination and aiming skills of the participant. For these two games, the participant need to pay us 3 token coupons and prizes will be given regardless win or loss. From this activity, i get to interact with the guests of the bazaar and able to make them happy. I also learned on how to managed a big event like this as their target guests are 1000 people if i am not mistaken. There are also some people who came from far or just pass by to donate to Rumah Charis, which make me realised that there are still many people who are generous and concern about the welfare of these children

21.  Mohd Hilmi bin Mohd Anuar (SIQ180020)
IC : 991020127499

Third day is the charity bazaar. On that day, I helped out in team Awesome. We were the coordinators for all the visitors and customers. I also helped out the other teams with their task like setting up the stalls with the goods to sell. During that day, it was really hectic. Many customers@donors came to support the bazaar. Their intentions are not to buy goods but mostly to donate because the price sold are way pricier than the normal supermarket. plus they have to buy the coupons first to buy something. I learned that there are many kind hearted people in KL. I was touched when a woman bought coupons but gave it to us for us to get foods because he only intentions is to donate. I also learn some basic chinese words to communicate with the chinese visitors. I am still hoping to improve it time to time. It was a great day as I know that i contribute to the well being of the charity house.

The charity bazaar was today. I was part of Team A under the task of navigation, basically providing directions to the guest. It was nice to talk to the guests and hearing them share their previous experience here. The children even put out several amazing performances for the guests.

Day 3 - 27th of April 2019 . So , this is the big day for Rumah Charis , that Charity Bazaar Day. I'm the member of team cool , where our task was ensured the safety of the elderly and the children , while patrolling all booths to respect all activities. But they was 6 of us from team cool was uncharged under operating manager and we're asked to be like a security infront of the gate and also help the people that also joined the bazaar to carry their stuff. This event gave me a chance to get along with people from different races and also met me friends that also volunteered for this charity bazaar. Since they're a lot of others volunteers , I'm also helping the other team at the game booth while I got nothing to do. So, time spend well on this day and a lot of moments to be cherish. All the kids also having fun with the activities and performances at the bazaar. I'm glade to see that this charity bazaar was successfully held and a lot of people aware about this and the visitors came from many races and background.

24. Ong Jun Wen (SIQ180029)
IC : 990720045342

Today was the very day that everyone had been eagerly anticipating. To carry out our respective tasks efficiently, we were divided into several groups such as Team Awesome (navigation), Team Bright (backstage) , Team Cool (security), Team Broga ( traffic controls) and Team Excellent (stall keepers). I was put into Team Bright to manage the backstage and performances with some of my friends. We arrived early in the morning to listen to briefings by the person in charge, Mr. Andrew about our job scope. Before the performances started, I looked through the program again to have a better understanding of the flow. The opening ceremony started at 10 a.m sharp. Throughout the event, we need to check microphones and prepare backup ones for the Emcees. Whenever there were music performances, we helped to prepare the music stands and microphone stands for the singers and musicians. When there was an ongoing performance, we need to get the next group of performers to standby 15 minutes earlier. However, the scene started to become a little chaotic as most of the performers travelled from far and arrived late at the bazaar. Consequently, we had to go against the original plan and let the group of performers who reached earlier to perform first. It was not easy to handle the change of plans at the last minute and we had to inform the Emcees from time to time. Fortunately, we had some children from Rumah Charis to help to search for performers around the bazaar. The bazaar came to an end at around 3 p.m. We helped to clean up the bazaar compound by picking up the scattered rubbish on the table and ground. Today’s workout was indeed an invaluable experience for me. As a backstage worker, I learnt to be alert at all times and stay calm when something was not going well as planned. Apart from that, I learnt to interact well with people of all ages as the performers were made up of children, teenagers, adults and even senior citizens. I was also blessed to meet a bunch of new friends from other college while working together at the backstage. We hoped to become volunteers again for charity events like this in the future.

25. Ahmad Za'im Azfar Bin Mohd Hamdan (SIQ180002)
IC : 990915056025

Day 3 was such a challenging day as we are going to handle such a big event which is the bazaar, during this day i learnt a lot of valuable things as i was assigned to help with our booth, i learnt how to communicate with other people and even how to sell our product more.
